Briar Class Outposts are center around a spacious Supply / Docking Hub which is surrounded by two habitat modules for crew member living spaces, scientific equipment, or additional cargo storage. Often Briar class outposts are used as hidden supply depots to resupply military or corporate starships.

Briar Outposts do not have the capability to resupply fighters and are not equipped with interior hangar or docking facilities. They do however have the capacity to store munitions which can be loaded via docking ports onto larger vessels.

Briar Class Outposts are normally equipped with defenses systems such as ICM's but have almost no offensive weapons systems. These stations have been known to be equipped with pod lasers and are fondly placed in mined or seeker seeded space. For Offensive capabilities, Briar Class Outposts rely on docked spacecraft to provide cover with their weapons systems. When Linked to a Briar Class Outpost any starship will receive an automatic re-arm bonus of 1 additional shot for any RB, AR, Drone, MS, or ICM System. Seekers and torpedoes are too large to be handled by Briar Class Outposts.
