I am just checking in to give you a update. I am still working on the conversions and I have the basics done. So it should not be to long before I start posting what I have.
I am also working still on the article for SFman.

I've had some medical problems that have slowed my work down a bit but the great thing is it has helped me keep my mind off things. I am doing better now and Hope you like what I'll be sharing.

I just finished a complete cover to cover scan of Mekton Z, then put it all into PDF and now I am sitting here thinking what to do with it. I did this so I did not have to keep draging books out to look things up, and find it easy to  use "post it notes" on a Pdf file they writingthem.
Its a very good scan, color where its color and black n white mostly. I made sure that you can read the paragraphs towards the inner spin, It good enough to read, and should inspire folks to get a real copy. My next one to scan is Mekton Z plus, the second book that goes into details of mecha building and Advanced rules. then I am thinking of scanning in all my other mekton books ( I have all but 2m the original white box set and starblade battalion)

So my question is... who wants a copy and where should I put it? its 89.9MB.

I've gone with 4shared.com Scribed gave me to many upload problems.

You can find it under Mekton Z RPG book.

This book has been out of print for over three years, and they reissused it last year with all new front covers and graphics and I am told the lay out is diferent.

Tell me about it! I'm still loading stuff! I even found the original Jovian Chronicles - not the Silhouette version, but the classic version, using the Mekton system! I found Cyberpunk stuff I did not even know about (CyberGeneration and Necrology)! I have not been this busy, since someone pointed me to Scribd (before all the crackdowns).

I still go to Scribd, but there is not much going on there anymore (I score an occasional find, but not as much). I even had a Gamma World group and a general Mecha fan group (that also attracted some Muslims by name alone LOL), but they got erased when I got banned for 3 months for repeated copyright violations and my account was eliminated!

Piracy is awesome! Wink

Yeah I actually have that jovian book and the europa incident.I think it was a conflict of intrest that caused the two to split.

You've never seen the altuniverse stuff for cyberpunk? your gonna love it. I got a hard copy of night's edge from a Comic shop in akron Oh ( Kenmore Komics), where I use to go to alot, and by time I tried to get back they sold of of all the others.

I spent a few months online four years ago and grabed and searched for every RPG title I could find, I broke out the old DVDR's and started to fill in gaps of what titles I am missing.

I am a book junkie and I am always hitting used book stores and amazon finding anything I am missing in my collection. i am slowly starting to enjoy PDF if they are good copies.

Nothing sucks more then finding that pdf you've always heard about but never got to read and after spending weeks waiting for downloads and getting a readable copy and it ends up being so badly scanned that you can only read 3 words on a page! ( at the time I was using Bear-share and other types to look up stuff)

When it comes to books that have been on the market for over 10 plus years, or the hard to find copies ( look up any of the Delta green books for modern call of cthulhu and you'll see prices that are really high and the books had a limited run. so they are rare) I do not see the harm is getting a copy via pdf.
Most people say I am not the one losing money, but as a leatherworker in a very competitive and backstabing circle of ren-fair and SCA merchants/ fellow artisans, I have had plenty of ideas stolen by others who loved the things I was making. So I am use to the rules of three months after you make something it becomes fair game attitude these folks have developed.

I don't upload alot of stuff, just things that I can't find, like the mekton books, I am tired of lugging 5-10 books around when I could just keep everything on my 8g stick and plug in when every I need to look something up ( but I still love the feel of a book in my hands).

The hardest books these days I am looking for is the old Stalking the night fantastic RPG by Tritac. and the rare module. I cant even find hard copies of the three paper back books they did.

I agree with you on how hard it is to find many of the books. On top of that, most of the newer books are really pricey! Publishers really like to go all out on the art and color.

One time I was talking about how I scored a bunch of classic Judges Guild books off Scribd, but someone scorned me for being a thief, and said that I should buy it off ebay. I hated the ebay part because I don't care to collect such old booklets (which was printed on cheap newspaper), they are too rare and pricey, and I HATE ebay!!! Every time I used it, nothing goes right! All I what to do is sort through for what I what, and print out what I need.

As much as I gobble up .PDFs (even downloading the same by mistake), I hate digital formats. I hate reading off a screen. I hate having to sort through a bunch of identical icons to find the right file. And I don't use (or own) a portable digital display, nor allow one at the game table. Unless a file is small and not overly illustrated (like fancy border art on every page, and chapter heading spreads), I cant spare the ink to print them out. So for the most part, these files go unused. Although, if I really like a book, and its easy to find, I would make it a point to buy a hardcopy. I am also a huge book junkie, and I really enjoy the smell of the ink and paper (and leather - if used)! My shelf has more books then I know what to do with them.

The book I have been on the hunt for is Armored Trooper: VOTOMS (my favorite japanimation) and an obscure RPG by Archive Games called Star Rovers. I have been looking high and low for both. I own an obscure Archive wargame called Sword Lords. I made it a point to scan each page, format it all into a .PDF, and submit it to Scribd (you can still find it there).
