Over-posting?

So, I've been updating my textured ship thread when I do a new ship... and I post it in the documents folder... and attach the file to the doc with a preview in the doc... and I put it in the Downloads section.

Are all of those locations just refering to the same file I uploaded, or am I taking up a bunch of extra space for nothing?

Nope. I like it.

One file to rule them all
and in the Many References bind them.

Uploading to the downloads section is a separate file from the upload for the documents. That's 2 uploads for each file. Putting them in the downloads section is a little redundant, unless you package them all together in a zip for download.

My only concern is that the files are kind of buried in the "documents" section, and I like the "version" option in the download area.  I know I want to go back and tweak the Assault Scout a bit... maybe give it a little more resolution than the fighters since it's larger.  And I was also considering doing some color variations on the individual fighters and putting them in chit sheets too once I have more base versions built.

If I was going to kill one, I think I'd kill the documents folder and keep the forum post and download section updated.

The two file size differences sounds like a reasonable solution.
