Redwillow, Inc.

Redwillow, Inc. is a corporation founded just after the Second Sathar War. Its original products were cheap but reliable explorers, groundcars, jetcopters, and groundcycles. After being acquired by Alistair Ravenshade, the corporation began expanding, adding Blackhawk Salvage Co. and Darkshadow Space Liner Co. They also purchased the Shaman trademark, and are beginning to design and build ships under both their name and the name of Shaman Starship Co. An easy way to distinguish a Redwillow product is the wide design. Usually, a wider body, thicker wings, or a longer ship is a Redwillow design. One notable exception, however, is the Shaman-inspired RDW-300 Stinger-class heavy fighter, which is much more compact and does not have wide wings. Redwillow, Inc. is worth nearly 60 million in assets, but makes nearly 30 million per year. While it lacks the credit worth of the PGC or Streel, it makes up for it with its powerful security fleet. Redwillow, Inc. specializes in making small ships and drawing up the blueprints for larger ones. Most of its day-to-day is commanded by Vincent "Vince" Ptarmigan, but all decisions require Ravenshade's input.

Blackhawk Salvage Co.

A subsidiary of Redwillow, Inc., the Blackhawk Salvage Company is a business largely designed by Alistair Ravenshade's right-hand man (and best friend), Vince Ptarmigan. It is based out of the Raven, a large repair station outside of Cass in the Devco system. The Raven, while technically classified as a class II construction center, never makes anything larger than a corvette, using all the extra space for repairs (it can repair any size and type of ship.) Operating from the station is Ravenshade's jump tug Yellowjacket, as well as serving as a base for the Redwillow Security Ships fleet (a detailed list can be found in A Giant Fleet Project.) The main objective for this base is to find and salvage damaged ships floating in space. Because of the jump tug's unique design, it can tow these ships back to base. Blackhawk Salvage routinely clears over 20 million credits per year, and any ships not sold are incorporated into the fleet. The fleet's main purpose is to defend any of Redwillow's interests, and this includes the salvage business. Usually, the jump tug is accompianied by either two frigates, one frigate and two assault scouts, or a frigate and a destroyer. This ensures that they have enough firepower to either destroy or disable anything coming their way.

Darkshadow Space Liner Co.

A subsidiary of Redwillow, Inc., the Darkshadow Space Liner Co. currently consists of five frigate-sized (HS 5) spaceliners. It is a relatively small business, but is used an an auxilary to build the Redwillow fleet. This business, on average, makes around 6.6 million, which is enough to maintain the fleet. After Redwillow acquired Shaman Shipbuilding Co., these spaceliners have been outfitted with new technology, making them tougher and more able to handle anything thrown their way. This was Ravenshade's first real business venture, and it allowed him to raise enough funds to build the Raven, the cornerstone of the Redwillow empire.

Shaman Starship Co.

A more recent entrant into the Redwillow domain, Shaman Starship Co. dates back to before the First Sathar War, although it was a part of the Streel Corporation then. Shaman was known for their beautiful ships and sleek designs. Their specialty was the SHA-170 Nightowl-class corvette, a very valuable ship in and of itself. The company went out of business after the war, and traded hands several times before being put up for sale. It was purchased by Redwillow for nearly 10 million, and since then has been retooled and now is a maker of concept and custom starships (while still retaining its sleek designs). Recently, a Shaman office was discovered on Devco, seemingly abandoned and forgotten for years. Inside were eight original Shaman Nightowl ships, but only 5 of them were in working condition.
